Scope of Work: Installation of Xylene hanger
Description: A xylene hanger needed to be installed on a producing facility while the platform maintained production. A pressurized welding enclosure was installed on a suspended scaffold approximately 110’ above the waterline. The facility crane was used to hold the hanger in place while the PWE was installed to enclose the work area and weld out 50% of the steel prior to releasing the crane. Once the crane was released, the PWE was re-installed and the remaining weld was completed. The utilization of the PWE allowed the hot work scope to be executed without the need for a facility shut-in while meeting the expectations of the project construction schedule.
