Awareness - This class is designed to provide an awareness level overview of scaffold hazards and the basics of safe design, maintenance and use.
Length: 2 hrs.
ALL SCAFFOLD USERS MUST BE TRAINED IN THE HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH SCAFFOLD USE AS PER 1926.454(a)
End User - This is a classroom overview of OSHA regulations, and coverage of the OSHA requirements. It also covers recommended assembly procedures. This course agenda discusses step by step assembly instructions and inspection checklists. It is the prerequisite for Competent Person. Note: this course does not cover the topics necessary to conduct the work shift inspection.
Length: 4 hrs.
Competent Person (Inspector) - Training for frame, tube & coupler, and "system" type scaffolds. Topics include detailed coverage of the OSHA scaffold regulations, as well as recommended assembly procedures. It is primarily classroom with walk by discussion of actual scaffold displays. The student will be given a 340 page manual with step by step assembly instructions and inspection checklists. This class is the prerequisite for scaffold builder.
Length: 8 hrs. (End User w/ Comp. person)
Scaffold Inspector / Builder - Recommended for anyone who will be erecting, dismantling, or modifying scaffolds. Consists of practical hands-on erection and dismantling of basic (one - two level) frame, tube & coupler, and "system" scaffolds. Prerequisite: Competent Person (Inspector)
Length: 1 1/2 - 2 days (End User, Comp person, w/ builder)
